Play and unloading area: interactive floor for children in the shelter

1. How was it?

The children of the village of Mala Rogan live in a state of constant tension due to the proximity of active hostilities and the difficult experience of the occupation. The baby needed high-quality psychological support during frequent air anxieties. The parent community has joined forces with the NGO “Agency of Local Initiatives” to create a modern rehabilitation space.

Activists planned to install an innovative projection image system in one of the new shelters of the community. All participants sought to return the joy of development and safe communication to children.

2. Impressive results

The team successfully purchased and delivered the interactive floor kit. The equipment was quickly mounted on the basis of the current psychological recovery space. Five hundred and one persons have directly benefited from the introduction of the latest technology. Children have the opportunity to engage in daily motor activity and perform exercises for the development of logic in a game format.

Specialists received an effective tool for relieving muscle tension and stabilizing the emotional state of small visitors.

3. Challenges and Achievements

The main test was the delay in state funding for the construction of the shelter. The planned room turned out to be technically not ready for the installation of a complex system. The initiative group demonstrated flexibility and instantly found an alternative solution. The equipment was moved to a fully finished cell on Culture Square. The quick reaction made it possible to avoid the simple technique and start classes immediately.

The partners learned to quickly coordinate technical nuances and simultaneously prepare documentation.

4. Impact on the community

The new technology has radically changed the format of children's daily stay in space. Boys and girls have become more mobile and much easier to come into contact with peers. Educators and psychologists have been given a powerful resource for working with childhood trauma. Local residents saw real steps towards development instead of mere survival. Modern technologies have given the community hope for a full recovery and rallied families around a shared concern for the future.

Parents felt a real relief due to the decrease in anxiety levels in the little ones.

5. What did the project leave?

Mala Rogan has acquired a unique modern center of psychological support for the village. The successful integration of technologies has proven the ability of residents to implement bold solutions even in the most difficult conditions. Parents gained practical experience in technical audit and system planning. The cohesive community is ready to support the sustainable functioning of development spaces in the future.

After the final completion of the construction of the shelter, people will be able to expand the possibilities of using the purchased equipment.

6. Who creates change

The mini-grant was implemented within the framework of the project “Support for Community Initiatives” with the financial support of the international humanitarian organization HEKS/EPER in coordination with the IfF “Alliance for Public Health”.
