A series of humanitarian projects aimed at supporting victims of war in territorial communities of Kharkiv region

A series of humanitarian projects aimed at supporting the victims of war in the territorial communities of Kharkiv region. Thanks to cooperation with the international humanitarian organization People in Need, they were able to provide basic needs of war victims and to raise funds for the restoration of water supply in the territorial community of Vilkhiv.

How it was

This initiative was a response to the urgent needs of the affected communities. Projects included delivery of grocery kits, bottled water, building materials for home restoration, and equipment to provide water supply. Thanks to the coordinated work of the Local Initiatives Agency team, the support of People in Need and local partners, all planned activities were completed on time and with high quality.

Impressive results

Within the framework of the project were transferred:

• 2882 humanitarian kits, which contained the most necessary products and hygiene products capable of providing basic needs of families;
• 14,080 bottles of water (168,000 liters) — a critical resource for communities with damaged infrastructure;
• 300 running meters of film and 900 m³ of OSB-plates — materials for the repair of damaged buildings, which helped to start the restoration of housing;
• equipment for the municipal water supply enterprise — contributed to the stabilization of the water supply system in deoccupied communities.

Challenges and Achievements

The project was implemented in an unstable security situation and difficult logistics, but thanks to effective coordination, support from People in Need and local partners, all challenges were overcome. An important achievement was the establishment of cooperation between local authorities, municipal enterprises and public organizations.

Impact on communities

These projects have significantly improved the quality of life of the affected people, providing them with basic support in the most difficult times. In addition, they have been a catalyst for further initiatives to restore the infrastructure and social life of communities.

What left this project

The implemented humanitarian initiatives have not only helped in the moment, but also an important contribution to the long-term recovery of the affected areas. The projects demonstrated the power of unity and support, showing that even in the most difficult conditions, it is possible to provide a decent life for the people who need it most.
