The procedure for submitting an application for the appointment of a lump sum cash allowance in case of death or disability of servicemen

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has changed the procedure for submitting an application for the appointment of one-time cash assistance in case of death or disability of servicemen.

Thus, on March 17, amendments were made to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of April 29, 2016 No. 336 “Some issues of social protection of war veterans and family members of Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine”.
These amendments simplify the procedure for applying for the payment of one-time cash assistance to persons with disabilities as a result of the war and members of the families of the deceased Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine.


From now on, it is possible to apply for the appointment of a lump sum cash assistance not only in paper, but also in electronic form, including through the Administrative Service Centers (CNAs).


In addition, documents for the appointment of assistance may not be submitted if the necessary data:

  • is in the possession of the Ministry of Veterans;
  • are contained in the relevant registers and can be obtained by accessing them or automatically through electronic information interaction.

Also, the resolution specifies that currently the following may qualify for payments:

  • spouse or spouse of a dead soldier/deceased serviceman;
  • their children;
  • their parents;
  • persons who were in the care of the dead/deceased.
